Export Destinations
Configure where your export files are saved: download, cloud storage, or FTP
Overview
PrimeLink supports multiple export destinations, allowing you to automatically save your export files to various locations. You can download files directly, upload to cloud storage services, or send to FTP servers.
Download to Computer
Default Destination
The default destination is to download the export file directly to your computer. This is the simplest option and requires no additional configuration.
How It Works
- Export file is generated on the server
- Download link is provided when export completes
- Click the download link to save the file to your computer
- File is also saved in WordPress uploads directory for later access
When to Use
- One-time exports
- Manual downloads
- Testing export configurations
- When you don't need automatic uploads
Upload to FTP/SFTP
What is FTP/SFTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) allow you to upload files directly to a remote server. SFTP is more secure as it uses encrypted connections.
Configuration
To use FTP/SFTP, you need to configure credentials in PrimeLink Settings:
- FTP Host: Server address (e.g., ftp.example.com)
- FTP Port: Port number (21 for FTP, 22 for SFTP)
- Username: FTP username
- Password: FTP password
- Remote Path: Directory path on server (e.g., /exports/)
- Use SFTP: Enable for secure SFTP connection
Setting Up FTP/SFTP
- Go to PrimeLink → Settings
- Navigate to Integrations section
- Enter your FTP/SFTP credentials
- Test the connection
- Save settings
When to Use FTP/SFTP
- Automated file transfers to remote servers
- Integration with external systems
- Backup to remote server
- When you need direct server access

Destination Configuration in Export
Selecting Destination
When creating an export, you can select the destination in Step 3:
- Go to Step 3 (Export Options)
- Find the Export Destination section
- Select your desired destination
- If using cloud storage or FTP, ensure credentials are configured in Settings
Destination-Specific Options
Some destinations may have additional options:
- FTP: Remote path, file naming pattern
- Cloud Storage: Folder path, file naming
- All: Option to keep local copy
Best Practices
- Test connections first: Always test cloud storage and FTP connections before scheduling exports
- Use secure protocols: Prefer SFTP over FTP, use HTTPS for cloud APIs
- Organize files: Use folder paths to organize exported files
- Monitor uploads: Check export logs to ensure files uploaded successfully
- Keep local copies: Consider keeping local copies even when using cloud storage
- Set up notifications: Enable email notifications to be alerted of upload status
- Regular backups: Use scheduled exports with cloud storage for automated backups
Troubleshooting
FTP/SFTP Connection Failed
- Verify host, port, username, and password are correct
- Check firewall settings
- Ensure server allows connections from your IP
- Try SFTP if FTP doesn't work
- Check remote path exists and is writable
Cloud Storage Upload Failed
- Verify API credentials are correct and not expired
- Check API token/access token is valid
- Ensure OAuth authorization is still active
- Verify API permissions are correct
- Check file size limits
- Review export logs for specific error messages
File Not Found After Upload
- Check the configured folder/path
- Verify file naming pattern
- Check export logs for upload confirmation
- Verify destination credentials are correct
